In an Exclusive interview, FRANCIS .O. OKOYE, Author of “How to control you sexual desire (2012)” and “The 15 secrets of Abortion (2014)”, published by Amazon.com has revealed why people don’t want to talk about sex and abortion, and why he choose to write on such topics among other issues.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO WRITE ABOUT SEX AND ABORTION?
I decided to write about sex ie sexual desire control and Abortion, because I noticed that people don’t want to talk about these topics. They tend to ignore it. I found out that people don’t want to talk about sex and abortion because they are involved in it, including men of God, from fornication, adultery, homosexualism, masturbation, to sponsoring or having an abortion, many people are doing it.
As an adolescent, I dabbled into sex because no one was talking or preaching against it, neither were they talking about abortion. I believe then that one cannot live without having sex, and that abortion was a normal way of life. Many of our young people still believed so till today.
It was the coming of AIDS that made me change my life style and along the line I learnt by trial and error to control my sexual desire. I am a highly sexual person. After I have been controlling my sexual desire for 20 years, I decided to put it in writing, hence the book.
On the Abortion Book, I discovered that even men whose partners abort their babies may suffer mental problems about 10 years Later not to talk of the women who did the actual abortion – google post Abortion syndrome to know what am talking about. May young people learn about abortion from their mates, they don’t know that even in the best of medical hands, abortion can cause serious health damages to a woman also my book list 15 reasons or secrets of why you should never choose or support abortion.
WHAT HAVE BEEN THE REACTION OF PEOPLE TO THE BOOKS
The books are mostly sold on the international market, they are not doing as well as expected, but one woman wrote via twitter from England, thanking me that my book has changed her life.
I have published one of the books, “the 15 secrets of Abortion” in Nigeria here, and have almost sold out the printed copies, although men of God and religious organizations and mission schools and even known catholic philanthropists, I wrote to, so that they can purchase bulk copies or collaborate with me in the distribution of book, never even replied my letter, others I visited, turned me down, maybe they felt I should not have written on such a topic.
Also many young women, on seeing my book on Abortion, have told me stories of true life abortion experiences in Nigeria they had or their friend had ,some of those stories are unbelievable.
Some priests are working with me to see that the abortion book is used as a moral instruction manual in schools. The one on sex is actually on abstinence, and if I decide to publish it in Nigeria, it would also be used for moral instruction.
SHOULD WE EXPECT ANY MORE BOOKS FROM YOU
Before two months from now, my collection of poems titled “NIGERIA” and a Catholic Apologetics book answering 25 most controversial questions about the catholic faith answered using the bible alone titled “Catholic Bible Answer” would be published on Amazon.com. I am also writing another book “How To Develop Nigeria Health” because on my online magazine www.nigeriapoliticsmagazine.com, a report I wrote about that topic received over 29,000 unapproved comments within 1 year.
